IQNA – The Grand Mufti of Oman underline the importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque and said liberating it from occupation is a duty for all Muslims in the world .

Mufti of Oman Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili made the remarks in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.

He said that as the first Qibla (direction toward which Muslims say prayers) in Islam and the place from where the Holy Prophet (PBUH) started the Mi’raj (ascension to heaven), Al-Aqsa has great significance and value.

Every Muslim must take measures toward liberation of Palestine, which is a holy obligation, he added.

The cleric said that due to the occupation of the holy city of al-Quds for decades, Muslims in different parts of the world have been deprived of visiting the mosque and saying prayer there.

For that reason and because of the West’s cultural and ideological onslaught, some Muslims may have forgotten their right to this holy place, he stressed.

Al Khalili added that all media and other tools have been used (by enemies of Islam) to convince Muslims that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an issue only related to Palestinians.
